Gochiso
The recipes your family keeps.
Gochiso is a recipe book for you and the people you cook for. Add a recipe by typing it, scanning it from paper, saying it out loud, or pasting a link, then share the cookbook with your family so everyone cooks from the same page. Cooking Mode keeps the screen awake and the steps large, the timer follows you to the Lock Screen, and every dish you photograph joins a family album. A Measures tab answers the cups-and-grams question for the kitchen you actually cook in. Everything lives on your device and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud; there is no account, no server, and no tracking. Free, with no in-app purchases, on iPhone and iPad.
Six things behind a shared cookbook
Four Ways In
Type a recipe the way you would write it on a card. Point the camera at a handwritten page or a cookbook and Gochiso reads it. Say it out loud while your hands are busy and it sorts the ingredients from the steps. Or paste a link, and the recipe arrives without the life story. On devices with Apple Intelligence, the sorting happens on the device itself.
One Cookbook, Whole Family
Invite the people you cook for from Messages and the cookbook appears on their iPhone or iPad, under their own iCloud. Everyone can add and edit, every recipe says whose it is, and you can remove people or stop sharing whenever you like. Changes made offline catch up when you are back on Wi-Fi.
Made for the Stove
Cooking Mode shows one step at a time in large type, keeps the ingredients a tap away, and keeps the screen awake. Start a timer and it follows you to the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island. When the dish is done, take a photo and write a line about how it went.
What We Made
Every dish photo becomes part of a family album, so the cookbook remembers the birthday cake, the first attempt at ramen, and the time the bread actually rose. Photos stay with the recipe, in the album, and on the shared recipe card.
Measures That Match Your Kitchen
A Measures tab for the question that always comes up mid-recipe: cups and spoons for the region you cook in, including Japanese cups and gō, Korean cups, and Turkish su bardağı; a converter for flour, sugar, butter, rice, and the rest; and an oven chart with gas marks and fan adjustments.
Your Recipes Stay Yours
Gochiso stores everything on your device and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud. There is no account, no server, no tracking, and no analytics. Speech recognition and text recognition run on the device. Export a complete backup or a printable PDF cookbook any time, and restore from either.
