1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Lantern Mahjong ("the App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you download the App from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Service Nature
Lantern Mahjong is a mahjong solitaire game for iPhone and iPad, with Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and a Messages app, developed by Orochi Systems. It is free of charge and contains no in-app purchases, no ads and no subscription. Every feature is included. There is no account, no login and no Orochi Systems server: your progress is stored on your own device. Feature availability can vary by device, OS version, region, language and configuration.
3. Your Progress
Your stars, Lumi's XP, streaks, layouts and other progress live only on your device. Orochi Systems holds no copy and cannot move, recover or restore it. Your progress is included in your own device backups, which are governed by Apple's terms and your settings. Deleting the App, or Settings › Progress › Reset progress, erases it.
4. Pass the Lantern and Game Center
Passing a lantern sends a code that includes the name you sign with. Choose a name you are happy for the people you pass to see, and do not use a name that impersonates someone or that is offensive or unlawful. Codes you send through Messages, WhatsApp, LINE or another app are delivered by that app under its own terms. Game Center is optional and is provided by Apple under Apple's terms. Leaderboard scores and turn-based matches are visible to other players as Game Center allows. We do not moderate, store or deliver lanterns ourselves and are not responsible for what other players write as their names.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not misuse the App, interfere with its operation or with Game Center, submit scores by modifying the App or its data, attempt unauthorized access, or use the App for unlawful activity.
6. Third Party Platforms
The App depends on Apple platforms and services, including Game Center, local notifications, WidgetKit, Messages and App Store distribution, and on the messaging apps you choose for passing lanterns. We are not responsible for third party outages, policy changes or service failures.
7. Intellectual Property
Lantern Mahjong, including its software, tile designs, artwork, sounds, the character Lumi, its icon, branding and related materials, is owned by Orochi Systems and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may share screenshots, the Daily Path card and your lantern sky for personal, non-commercial purposes. Otherwise you may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer or decompile the App, or use our trademarks, without written consent.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, the delivery of any reminder or lantern, or that progress will never be lost.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Orochi Systems is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of progress, arising from your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the preceding 12 months, which for a free app is zero. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Termination
We may change, suspend or discontinue features of the App, including its Game Center features, at any time. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Continued use after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Turkey. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Turkey, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.
