1. Overview

Eos is a medication reminder and tracking app for older adults and the family or caregiver who helps them, developed by Orochi Systems in Tokyo for iPhone and Apple Watch. It is free, has no in-app purchases, and needs no account. Your records are stored on your devices. Eos has no developer server. You can share information through other apps, and your device backups may contain Eos data. Orochi Systems cannot access your in-app records. The App's privacy manifest declares no collected data and no tracking.

2. What Eos Stores on Your Device

Eos keeps the following on your iPhone, in a local container shared with its widgets and Siri shortcut. Selected data is also copied to your paired Watch as described below: - Your first name, your language, text size and appearance, and whether read-aloud is on. - Your medication: name, what it is for, what kind it is, how much, the times, the schedule, how to take it, the supply count, and any photo you add of the box. - Every dose you mark taken or not taken, when it was due and when you marked it. - Voice records: the audio file, the text it was turned into, and which record type and medication you confirmed. - Blood pressure and blood sugar readings you type in, and any read from the Health app if you switch that on. - The limits for those readings that you, your family or your doctor set. - Your family contacts: name, phone number, relationship, and which messages each person is on. - Your emergency information: blood type, allergies, conditions, your doctor's name and phone number. - If you set a caregiver code, a one-way hash of it, never the code itself. Nothing in this list is sent to Orochi Systems.

3. Sharing you choose

Eos does not automatically alert your family. Help requests, voice records, readings and the daily summary can reach your family as text messages: the App fills in the Messages app with the recipients and the text, and you tap Send there. Because the Messages app reports a text as sent once it has merely been queued, Eos tells you to check that Messages shows it as delivered, and to call if it does not. A text message leaves your phone through your carrier or Apple's iMessage service, and what you send is then subject to their terms and to your recipient's device. Help requests include your emergency information, so the people you choose will see your blood type, allergies, conditions and doctor if you have entered them. Reports, daily summaries, PDFs and diagnostics files leave the App only through the iOS share sheet, when you choose to share them, to an app or destination you pick. Records and Help requests also offer sharing when Messages is unavailable.

4. Emergency Calls

Eos does not contact the emergency services and cannot call anyone for you. On the help screen it shows the emergency number for your region and your family's own numbers as buttons; tapping one asks iOS to place the call, which you then confirm in the Phone app. Eos is not a medical alert service and must not be relied on as one.

5. Apple Health

Reading from the Health app is off until you switch it on under Settings, Blood pressure and sugar. When you do, Eos asks Apple Health for read-only permission to blood pressure and blood glucose, so readings from a Bluetooth monitor or meter that saves to Health appear in Eos without being typed again. Only readings recorded after you switched it on are brought in, each one once. When Health supplies deletion updates while this connection is enabled, Eos removes those imported readings too. Eos never writes to Apple Health. Health data is used to show your readings in the App, in your day summaries and in the report for your doctor, which means a reading can appear in a text message or a PDF that you choose to send. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with anyone by the App itself. You can review or withdraw Eos's Health permissions at any time in the Apple Health app, under your profile, Privacy, Apps.

6. Microphone and Speech Recognition

A voice record needs the microphone. The audio is saved on your phone and kept with the record so it can be played back later. Turning speech into text uses Apple's speech recognition. Eos requires transcription on the device and does not send recordings to Apple servers for speech recognition. If that recognition is unavailable for your language or device, you can keep the audio and type the text. Orochi Systems never receives it. You can use "Write it down instead" to type a record with no microphone and no speech recognition at all.

7. Your Apple Watch

If you use the Apple Watch app, your first name, your medication and the last two days of dose records are sent from your iPhone to your own paired Watch, so the Watch can show the next dose and let you mark it. This travels over Apple's device-to-device connection between your two devices and is cached on the Watch. It does not pass through Orochi Systems.

8. Notifications

Reminders are local notifications created on your device by the App. There is no push server. A reminder names the medication and the dose, so that text appears on your Lock Screen; you can hide notification previews in iOS Settings if you would rather it did not. Eos asks for notification permission during first-run setup, after explaining why it needs it.

9. Crash Reports and Diagnostics

Eos uses no third-party analytics and no advertising. It contains no tracking of any kind. Crash and hang reports come from Apple's own MetricKit and are kept as files on your phone; Settings, Advanced, Share diagnostics turns them into one text file you can send to whoever helps you with the App. That file holds the App version, your device and iOS version, your settings, counts of how many medications, contacts and records you have, and the App's recent technical log. It does not contain your name, your medication names, your contacts, your readings or your recordings. Separately, if you have agreed to share analytics and crash data with developers in your iOS settings, Apple may send Orochi Systems crash reports for Eos through App Store Connect, in the aggregated form Apple provides. That is Apple's mechanism, not the App's, and is governed by your Apple analytics settings.

10. Backups

Because your information is stored in the App's container on your iPhone, it is included in your iPhone backups if you back up to iCloud or to a computer. Those backups are governed by Apple's terms and your own settings, not by Eos. Eos itself has no cloud sync and no account.

11. Keeping and Deleting Your Information

Eos keeps what you enter until you delete it. You can delete an individual voice record, reading, medication or contact in the App, and deleting a voice record also offers to undo the dose it marked. Removing medication from the active list retains its past schedule and dose history for reports. Removing the app removes its local data subject to iOS shared-container retention. A paired Watch cache and existing backups may retain copies; remove the Watch app and manage backups separately if you want to remove those copies. Orochi Systems holds no copy of your records and cannot restore them. If Eos ever cannot read its own saved file, it does not overwrite it. It tells you the information is still there, offers you the file so you can keep a copy, and asks before starting over.

12. Children

Eos is made for adults managing their own medication, and for the family and caregivers who help them. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

13. Not a Medical Device

Eos is a reminder and a way to keep your family informed. It is not a medical device, it gives no medical advice, it does not diagnose anything, and it adds no thresholds or judgements of its own. It never tells you whether a reading is good or bad; any limits shown are the ones you, your family or your doctor entered. Always follow the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist, including about a dose you have missed.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and anything material will also be explained in the App.
